There are a number of ways you can get involved with the Independent Race Series as a driver, depending on your budget, your chosen category and your goals.
If you already have an eligible race car, you will need a couple of administrative items (racing licence, including medical exam, and vehicle logbook), and you'll be set to race.
If you don't have a car and would like to acquire and own your own car, check out our Classifieds, or any of the many racing classifieds. Once you have a car you will need to complete the administrative items listed above.
If you want to find out if racing is for you before you commit to buying a car, or if you would rather drive someone else's car, leasing a car may be the best option for you. There are often lease deals advertised in our Classifieds section, or Contact Us to find out if there is anything that might suit you. Once you have arranged a lease deal, you will also need to have a valid racing licence and medical examination.

Officials are the backbone of motorsport. Often unrecognised, many are volunteers, and all share a passion for the sport. Without them, there can be no racing.
Officials fulfill many roles at Independent Race Series events, from Flag and Fire Marshalls, to Pitlane Marshalls, Scrutineers to Other officials like the Clerk of Course and Stewards.

Mechanics and Engineers are another essential facet of motor racing and the Independent Race Series. Many of the teams racing in the Independent Race Series are manned by volunteer mechanics, and just because they don't get paid doesn't mean these guys and girls aren't valuable - without them there would be no racing.
If you have a passion for racing, and would like to work on some high tech machinery, there may be a place for you in a team in the Independent Race Series. We are happy to facilitate arrangements between volunteer mechanics and grateful teams who would otherwise have no way of getting in contact with each other, if you are interested, simply write to us and explain your position. If you have previous experience, let us know about that too.
Working with one of the teams in the Independent Race Series could be a great way to gain experience, to work your way up to a full-time race mechanics job.

Like any organisation, the Independent Race Series doesn't run itself. We work hard to make sure everything runs smoothly at each event, and we're always happy for a little help.
If you have administrative skills, and would like to find a way to help out, we'd be glad to hear from you. We are especially keen to hear from people interested in helping out as Category Points of Contact (working out pointscores, assisting with handicapping and information distribution and so on), Administration Assistants and Volunteer Race Reporters.
If this sounds like it could be you, click here to learn more about getting involved in the Independent Race Series in Administration.
